We are hiring IMMEDIATELY for a Program Physician to join one of our community mental health providers!

Summary:
The Program Physician is responsible for approving admissions for medication-assisted treatment (e.g. methadone, suboxone, Vivitrol, or alcohol treatment services) and collaborating with the medical and management team to improve program procedures and outcomes. Provides direct patient care, approves all admissions, and manages ongoing treatment for opioid-dependent or alcohol-dependent patients. Works closely with medical staff to ensure safe medication dispensing, adherence to physician order sets, and accuracy of patient assessment. Coordinates care with patients’ primary care and other care providers to ensure treatment continuity and safe prescribing practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Board Certified or board-eligible Family Physician or General Internist OR anesthesia and psychiatry board certification with similar background or experience.
  • Current DATA waiver.
  • Experience providing care to high-risk, high-need patients, including those diagnosed with co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience in the use of medication-assisted treatment for patients with addictive disorders including methadone, suboxone induction and management, and extended-release naltrexone (Vivitrol) induction and management.
  • Board Certified or board-eligible Family Physician or General Internist OR anesthesia and psychiatry board certification with similar background or experience.
